Appointment: UK Trade Envoy to Southern Africa

Today I have been honoured to be appointed UK Trade Envoy to Southern Africa. This role will enable me to do more to serve our country, including our communities in Leyton and Wanstead.  

I will be working to help us seize the opportunities for mutual benefit, including in resources vital to the industries of the future, which are a source of massive opportunity for many southern African countries and much needed for UK growth and economic stability. 

This is a source of particular pride for me because of my family links to the region. I firmly believe the connections to other countries many of us have in Leyton and Wanstead are a source of strength for the UK and can help us to thrive and achieve greater security in this volatile world.
